Join us May 8-11, 2026 for the second Canadian Equine Hoof Care Association conference, to be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Centre in Ontario. A robust educational experience for the equine industry, including equine health-related and hoof care professionals, students, and horse owners, the CEHCA conference features top practitioners and experts from a variety of equine fields. Industry leaders will present on multiple aspects of health care influencing the soundness of the hoof – bodywork, veterinary sports medicine, hoof care and podiatry, equine nutrition, and more.

May 28, 2025 – Reading hoof radiographs as a trim aid

Hoofcare providers have plenty of tools and education to help them understand the hoof and make trim decisions. In many cases, this is enough to achieve healthy or healthier feet. What about those cases where the hoof is so distorted that the external landmarks aren’t where they should be? Or has the horse been chronically pathologic? Radiographs can give us vital information that our other tools can’t.

Nov 6, 2024 – The Importance of Early Hoof Care in Hoof Development

Correctly trimming foals at an early age is very important and often neglected in hoof care practices. It is one of the paramount keys in developing healthy hooves and setting horses up for a lifetime of soundness. Unless your foals are moving on various terrain for 25 km a day, foals should receive their first trim at the age of one month.
